Blog Council Confidentiality Statement
The Blog Council is a private community where members discuss issues, explore ideas, ask for help, and share concerns, in a collaborative and confidential environment. We strongly promote and champion member openness and transparency in engaging their consumers and the public. However, we also recognize the necessity of ensuring the confidentiality of all internal Blog Council conversations so as to provide our members with the safety, trust, and comfort necessary for them to engage in candid conversations and meaningful deliberations.
1. No Blog Council communications -- emails, discussions, or documents -- may be forwarded or shared outside the Blog Council.
2. Company representatives violating these policies will cause their organization to be removed from the Blog Council without refund.
In the coming days, we will be adding an extra layer of confidentiality to Blog Council materials and communications. All new and existing members will have an opportunity to formally indicate their agreement and understanding. Companies and individuals participating in the Blog Council must agree to these principles or choose to not participate.
The mission of this organization is to enable collaboration and the candid exchange of ideas as companies grow in their use and appreciation of social media. Without the assurance of confidentiality, members would no longer be comfortable sharing and guest presenters would not provide us with the same level of openness.
Requiring that members respect the privacy of their fellow members by maintaining the confidentiality of Blog Council activities in no way conflicts with the principles of openness and transparency. Each of our members participates in many public discussions throughout the blogosphere and the Blog Council supports and encourages members to do so.
